An established pianist and pedagogue acclaimed for his artistry and technical poise, James Giles brings a wealth of experience to this masterclass.
James serves as Coordinator of the Piano Program and Director of Music Performance Graduate Studies at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music, and is highly sought-after worldwide as a recitalist, masterclass leader and lecturer. A committed advocate for new music, he has commissioned and premiered works by Stephen Hough, Ned Rorem and Augusta Read Thomas. His international career includes solo recitals at renowned venues such as Salle Cortot in Paris, the Sibelius Academy, Wigmore Hall in London and Alice Tully Hall in New York City.
