In this distinctive masterclass, double bassist, composer and visionary performer Valentina Scheldhofen Ciardelli explores the genre-defining projects that have shaped her artistic voice.
An alumna of the Royal College of Music, Valentina’s career has been marked by creativity and adventurous musicianship. Her compositions have been commissioned by major institutions including the Agnelli Foundation, Fondazione Arturo Toscanini and the Italian Cultural Institute, and her bold reimagining of the double bass in jazz and experimental music has taken her to leading festivals such as the Düsseldorf Jazz Marathon, Villa Celimontana and Udine Jazz. She is celebrated within the Frank Zappa community for her imaginative transcriptions of his work for double bass.
We’re delighted to welcome her back to share her virtuosity, innovation and artistic depth with ¶¶êŽÒ•îl musicians.
