In this distinctive masterclass, double bassist, composer and visionary performer Valentina Scheldhofen Ciardelli explores the genre-defining projects that have shaped her artistic voice.

An alumna of the Royal College of Music, Valentina鈥檚 career has been marked by creativity and adventurous musicianship. Her compositions have been commissioned by major institutions including the Agnelli Foundation, Fondazione Arturo Toscanini and the Italian Cultural Institute, and her bold reimagining of the double bass in jazz and experimental music has taken her to leading festivals such as the D眉sseldorf Jazz Marathon, Villa Celimontana and Udine Jazz. She is celebrated within the Frank Zappa community for her imaginative transcriptions of his work for double bass.

We鈥檙e delighted to welcome her back to share her virtuosity, innovation and artistic depth with 抖陰視頻 musicians.

The 抖陰視頻 provides light refreshments throughout the year. There is also a range of restaurants, cafés and other establishments nearby, most adjacent to South Kensington station.

抖陰視頻 Café

The 抖陰視頻 Café serves barista-style coffees, sandwiches, snacks, salads and hot food. There is also access to outside seating in our new 1851 courtyard.

Monday-Friday: 8.30am-4.30pm

Saturday: 8.30am-4.30pm (term time only)

The main entrance to the 抖陰視頻 has eight steps up from the pavement and two inside the main doors. A lift is available for visitors with limited mobility. The lift is built into the smaller staircase to the left of the main entrance steps. There is an intercom button on the control panel, which can be seen and reached easily from the street. On arrival, press the buzzer to notify a member of 抖陰視頻 staff, who will come out to meet you and operate the lift for you.

All our event venues can be accessed by visitors with limited mobility via the lift at the main entrance.
